ANTHRAX Guitarist: DOWNLOAD Festival Appearance Was 'Mind-Blowing'

June 16, 2005

ANTHRAX guitarist Scott Ian has checked in with the following update:

"The Download festival ruled. We destroyed in front of 60,000. Mind-blowing. Love was in the air and the emotions on stage were running really high. It had been an 18-year gap between Donington shows and it was a dream come true to be able to do it again. Thank you so much for letting us play for you. The ANTHRAX army here has been with us through thick and thin. Today really showed me how strong you are. I've still got chills. It was something special."

As previously reported, ANTHRAX have set a September 27 release date for their brand-new live CD/DVD. The package is expected to include recordings made at the band's June 3 performance at The Starland Ballroom in Sayreville, New Jersey along with documentary and behind-the-scenes-style footage covering the reunion of the band's classic "Among the Living"-era lineup.

ANTHRAX will spend the next couple of months on the Euroepan festival circuit before taking a break and embarking on a U.S. headlining tour beginning in late October. The North American trek is expected to last well into December. Exact cities and dates will be announced soon.
